Has it been difficult as an independent company to develop an MMO? What hurdles have you come across that you might not have expected at first?
Todd: Well, the positive side of being independent is that it has allowed us to establish our own art style, game design, and production schedule. I think we’ve taken some risks with our hybrid game style that would have been more difficult given a traditional publisher funded model.
Hi-Rez Studios' model of frequent and diverse community interaction is definitely a nice change from the increasingly faceless developers in the industry. We all appreciate their unique presence in the industry!
